during and after the january 6 fascist uprising and even in the following days, people seemed confused about what exactly was going on, and why. they said what they were going to do, and then they did it. they showed up in clothes that stated their intended purpose. when people show you who they are, believe them.

it is true that some capitol police officers attempted to stop fascists from violently pouring into the building. but other footage showed police allowing entry. again, many people seemed confused and surprised, despite the thin blue line flags, and the oath keepers flags. they let the fascist insurgents through because they are one in the same.

january 6, third in series
a key feature of fascism, consistent across time and place, is the destruction of news media that does not uplift their ideology. the insurgents who stormed the capitol destroyed the associated press’ equipment by throwing it in big heap and setting it on fire.
the nazi party never stopped existing in the united states, and there are splinter groups, meaning there are multiple fascist organizations. the KKK never stopped existing. and in contemporary fascism, we have groups like the proud boys.
the difficulty in combating them is that the majority of people - including, or perhaps especially, many US liberals - are either ignorant or in total denial of the existence of these groups and what their purpose might be.
